Theresa Calderone
EdD, MEd, MSN, RN, PMH-BC, IN-BC
Assistant Professor

Profile
Dr. Calderone serves as the Clinical Placement Coordinator in the School of Nursing. She has over 30 years of nursing experience including Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and working as an Informatics Nurse at UPMC on various electronic health record projects.
Currently, Dr. Calderone works with faculty and students in the NP program with clinical placements. She also engages with clinical preceptors at various clinical sites in student placements
Clinical Emphasis
Dr. Calderone's focus is in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and assists with NP clinical placements, primarily FNP and PNP students. She also helps students with placements out of state and students who need help with finding a preceptor. Recently, she has been involved with the Undergraduate clinical faculty regarding clinical placement.
Scholarly Emphasis
Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Calderone's research interest included Nursing and Technology and Lived experiences of students.
In 2024, she was awarded a grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Archival Records Care (HARC) for the Apollo Memorial Library and Apollo Area Historical Society. This grant is to index, preserve, digitalize, and make available electronically the NUMEC Affair historical records held by these two organizations.
Service
Dr. Calderone serves as a Board of Trustee member at the Apollo Memorial Library since 2023, and on the Executive Board as Secretary for the Chautauqua Catholic Community since 2024.
