A person is a cancer survivor from the time of their diagnosis through the balance of their lives. Due to advances in screening and treatment, a burgeoning number of individuals are living for long periods of time after their cancer diagnosis, and many are cured of their disease. Unfortunately, many survivors experience symptoms and adverse effects of cancer and its treatment which may persist for years following the completion of therapy. These symptoms and adverse effects impact the quality of life and other outcomes in cancer survivors and their caregivers.
The goals of this hub are to provide a forum for:
- Students interested in learning more about cancer survivorship
- Nurse scientists involved in cancer survivorship research to advance their programs of research through collaboration
Our HUB includes faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students from multiple disciplines who conduct research to prevent, minimize or manage the symptoms and adverse effects of cancer and its treatment and to enhance the quality of survival in cancer survivors and their caregivers.
