Profile
Dr. Amanda Ringold is an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Department of Health Promotion and Development. She teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and her teaching responsibilities include Diagnostic Physical Exam Across the Lifespan and undergraduate OB Clinical.
Dr. Ringold maintains clinical practice as a nurse practitioner at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital in the Emergency Department where she is involved in the Sexual Assault Response Program.
Her scholarly interests include women’s health, emergency medicine, emergent care of victims of sexual assault, and HIV post-exposure prophylaxis medication access and adherence after a sexual assault.
Amanda is passionate about improving care for victims of sexual assault and is active in the International Association of Forensic Nursing. She is also a member of the AANP.
Dr. Ringold earned her diploma in nursing at UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing in 2009. She completed the RN to BSN program at the University of Pittsburgh in 2012. After that, she earned her DNP (area of concentration: Family Nurse Practitioner) at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. She became a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Adult/Adolescent in 2012.
