Linda Reid-Kelly

Dr. Reid-Kelly graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing followed by a Master of Science in Nursing Education. She has been teaching professional nurses and other hospital personnel in the acute care setting for many years, and has been teaching student nurses in the undergraduate setting for over 20 years. She is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. She is known by professional nurses as well as undergraduate nursing students for her creative and memorable teaching style. Dr. Kelly has also worked in various management positions in acute care settings. Dr. Reid-Kelly added a Juris Doctorate to her education later in her career, subsequent to which she spent 13 years in Risk Management in a large, tertiary referral center, accumulating various honors in that position.

Currently, her main area of interest is contributing to both the classroom and clinical education of new nurses. To that end, she teaches all levels of undergraduate students in various classes, simulations, and clinical settings. She brings her years of experience and skill as a teacher to the students, teaching and role-modeling excellence in the practice of nursing. She has been recognized with several honors, including the Cameo of Caring Award in the Patient Safety division, the UPMC Outstanding Nursing Clinical Faculty Award, and most recently, a second UPMC Above and Beyond Award for assisting a patient in distress.
