Pitt Nursing Advancing in NIH Funding Ranks

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing ranks as the No. 7 recipient of competitive federal research grants received in 2022 among public universities, No. 12 overall, according to rankings released by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR).

Pitt Nursing secured nearly $5.7 million from the U.S. National Institutes of Health.

“Pitt Nursing has provided faculty and students with the resources and support they need to lead innovative research for decades,” according to Christine E. Kasper, Dean. “Our faculty, and their research, are generating new healthcare knowledge that’s transforming healthcare. I am confident that our research funding will continue an upwards trajectory.”

The new ranking put Pitt Nursing up four spots from the previous year. BRIMR has published these rankings since 2006.
