Al-Zaiti received Chancellor's Distinguished Research Award

The School of Nursing is proud to join the University community in celebrating the accomplishments of 13 faculty members chosen for this year’s Chancellor’s Distinguished Awards , including Pitt Nursing’s Dr. Salah Al-Zaiti, associate professor and vice chair of research.

Dr. Al-Zaiti received a Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award in the junior category and was honored for the “quality and early contributions of his analysis of electrocardiographic signals to derive actionable information to support early clinical diagnoses of cardiac conditions.”

Dr. Al-Zaiti’s peers called him “one of the most productive research contributors in the field” and said his scholarly achievements are “outstanding by any standard.”

Dr. Al-Zaiti will be recognized at the Faculty Honors Convocation on March 16, 2023.

In 2020, Dr. Al-Zaiti received the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award. Since joining Pitt in 2013, he has served as a key member of scientific investigative teams on multiple research projects contributing to the development and implementation of research protocols, processing ECG data streams and performing longitudinal statistical data analyses.

Dr. Al-Zaiti also received the Dean's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2019.
