Important Information for International Graduate Student Applicants from Other Countries

In addition to completing and submitting the appropriate application and required additional application materials (such as essay, resume) for the School of Nursing, international graduate student applicants must complete and submit the following:

  1. Official Transcripts of all original language academic records from all post-secondary institutions attended. Where the official original documents are issued in a language other than English certified English translations must also be submitted. Certified copies of the original certificates or diplomas awarded at the completion of studies must also be submitted.  Applicants who have completed the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree or higher at an institution outside of the United States are required to provide the Graduate admissions and enrollment office with official third-party evaluations of those academic credentials. These evaluations must be completed by an accredited organization. For your convenience, we have listed two organizations among many, which provide the evaluations below:
    International Education Research Foundation, Inc.
    www.ierf.org
    World Education Services, Inc.
    www.wes.org
  2. Official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) MUST BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). You will not be considered as an applicant until you have achieved this minimum score or higher.

  3. As an alternative to TOEFL, THE School of Nursing will accept official scores from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Minimum scores accepted by the School of Nursing include an overall band score of 7 and a band score of 7 on speaking skills.
