Profile

Dr. Kimberly Medina currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Acute and Tertiary Care at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.

Research Areas & Scholarly Emphasis

Dr. Medina has a scholarly emphasis focusing on enhancing care and improving outcomes for the non-English preferring population.

Teaching

Dr. Medina currently teaches primarily in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Area of Concentration, with additional support provided to other classes offered at the graduate level. She is involved in educating through courses in the didactic, clinical, and laboratory settings.

Service

Dr. Medina holds an active membership to the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, where she has accepted calls to volunteer as a certification exam reviewer. She also holds memberships to the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Neurocritical Care Society, and the National Neurotrauma Society. Dr. Medina is also an active mentor for graduate nursing students via the CrossCampus Program at Yale School of Nursing.

Clinical Emphasis

Dr. Medina currently works as an Advanced Practice Provider in the Neurological and Neuro-Trauma ICU at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT.
