Judith F. Zedreck Gonzalez

Profile
Dr. Zedreck is a professor and program coordinator of the Health Systems Executive Leadership DNP Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and the nursing school coordinator with Pitt Online learning.
Prior to joining Pitt full time in 2014, Dr. Zedreck held positions of CEO, CNO and VP of Operations at Allegheny Health Network/ West Penn Allegheny Health System for 12 years. Prior to those positions, she also held director of operations and nursing positions for clinical and educational departments in several healthcare organizations.
She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in 1979, graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1989 with a Master’s in Public Management and went on to earn her DNP in Nursing Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013.
Dr. Zedreck achieved certification (Nurse Executive, Advanced – Board Certified (NEA-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and certification as a Magnet consultant. She has lectured and published internationally on topics of healthcare management and transformational leadership. Dr. Zedreck also provides consulting services in healthcare management and is a member of American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL), Southwest Pennsylvania Organization of Nursing Leaders (SWPONL), American Nurses Association (ANA), Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA)
Clinical Emphasis
Dr. Zedrick's clinical expereince includes Neonatal ICU Staff Nurse, Clinical Educator, Manager/Unit Director; Nursing Director of Specialty Services, Women’s and Children’s Services, ED and Trauma.
Scholarly Emphasis
Dr. Zedrick's research focuses on Executive Leadership and Management (National and International).
Teaching
Dr. Zedrick is an instructor for Evidence-Based Management & Quality Improvement, Leadership in Complex Systems, Data Analytics & Clinical Systems Design, Healthcare Quality, Organizational Management, Finance and Economics in Healthcare Systems, and Leadership Development.
Service
Dr. Zedrick is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (Past President Eta 2022-23, President Eta 2020-2022,Secretary ETA chapter 2016- 2019); Southwest Pennsylvania Organization of Nursing Leaders (Past Board Member); American Nurses Association; Pennsylvania State Nurses Association; Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association for Nursing Professional Development (GPC-ANPD); and the American Organization of Nurse Leaders.
