The School of Nursing congratulates Assistant Professor Ji Yeon Choi on her award from the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. The grant will support her feasibility study on “Telerehabilitation for Lung Transplant Candidates and Recipients,” which will result in an in-home exercise program for lung transplant candidates/recipients using an Internet-based, interactive telerehabilitation platform with audio and video capability: the Versatile and Integrated System for TeleRehabilitation (VISYTER). Unfortunately, lung transplant candidates/recipients are often at an increased risk for comorbid conditions because of being sedentary. The proposed LT-VISYTER intervention has the potential to scale up and sustain a home exercise program, one which is tailored to the individual needs of lung transplant candidates/recipients.
