National award recognizes professor’s work in psychiatric-mental health nursing

Jamie Zelazny, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Health and Community Systems, is the 2024 recipient of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Excellence in Research and Scholarship award. The award recognizes Zelazny’s exceptional work in psychiatric-mental health nursing.

Zelazny has over 35 years of psychiatric nursing experience in clinical and research settings. Much of her research is focused on the use of technology to identify and manage suicidal thoughts and behavior in youth.

Zelazny will be recognized during the APNA 38th Annual Conference in October in Louisville, Kentucky.
