Pitt Alumnus and Faculty Member Inducted as President of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics

Congratulations to Susan Wesmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, as she begins her elected term as President of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics. 

Dr. Wesmiller has an extensive career in nursing research and academia.  Her research interests are in the science of symptoms, especially those experienced by women undergoing treatment for breast cancer.  Her current research funding is from the National Institute of Nurse Research: (1RO1NR016695) Genomic Underpinnings for Breast Cancer Treatment Induced Nausea and Vomiting. 

Dr. Wesmiller shares her expertise by teaching the graduate and undergraduate genetic classes and the undergraduate research course.  Additionally, Dr. Wesmiller is one of the training faculty members for the National Institute of Nursing Research training grant – T32NR009759 Targeted Research and Academic Training Program for Nurses in Genomics.
