Standards for Integrity and Independence – Commercial Support

POLICY:

Nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) educational activities that receive commercial support may award NCPD contact hours. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation refers to the recognition of educational activities only and does not imply that ANCC or the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing endorses any commercial products discussed or displayed in conjunction with an NCPD educational activity.

PROCEDURE:

1. ANCC adopted the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Education in December 2020. All NCPD educational activities will be developed following ACCME Standards. Visit the ACCME website for procedures.
