Faculty, students, and staff who report sensitivity will be provided with reasonable accommodations. Faculty, staff and students will be provided with latex-free gloves as appropriate.

PROCEDURE:

A student with a latex allergy should report it to the instructor for the Skills Lab as well as the clinical instructor.

Labs will have both latex and latex-free gloves/sterile and non-sterile available.

Students who have a dermatitis, they suspect is related to use of latex or powder- containing gloves should report the occurrence to their instructor. When appropriate, the student will be referred for evaluation, as necessary.

Students with a latex allergy should also be given latex-free gloves to use even when handling latex tubing and manikins.
