C.L.E.P. Examination Credits
POLICY:
- The School of Nursing awards credit for the following C.L.E.P. examinations.
Credits are granted according to the credit-granting scores below:

*RN-Options students may CLEP general chemistry for 4 credits but will be required to take an additional organic chemistry course.
- Prelicensure students who have graduated from high school at least two years ago or who are at least 20 years of age may take C.L.E.P. examinations at any time before admission to the School of Nursing; however, official C.L.E.P. scores must be included at the time the application is submitted. A maximum of 21 credits, 12 of which must be in the liberal arts, can be obtained through the C.L.E.P. program by prelicensure students. RN-Options students may take C.L.E.P. exams during their program per University policy.
- C.L.E.P. credits granted by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing are independent of awards granted at other schools. C.L.E.P. credits awarded elsewhere do not automatically transfer; students must submit official C.L.E.P. scores for evaluation at the time of application.
