Keeper of the Light Award

POLICY:

The senior student(s) with the highest GPA in the Traditional Prelicensure Program is designated the Keeper of the Light for the current graduating class.

PROCEDURE:

  1. Grades for all courses are averaged for all seniors in the Traditional Prelicensure Program. The student(s) with the highest average is honored at the annual Commencement Ceremony. Student(s) will be selected from the Oakland campus, Johnstown campus, and Greensburg campus.
  2. The grades averaged will include those of all seniors graduating from the Traditional Prelicensure Program in the prior August, December, and current April terms.
  3. The Keeper's name is announced for the first time at the Commencement Ceremony rehearsal. Students who receive this recognition are notified in advance.
  4. In case of comparable records of achievement, more than one student may receive the recognition.
