Academic Policies and Procedures for the Undergraduate Program
Graduation with Honors
POLICY:
To qualify to graduate with university honors, the student must accumulate 60 University of Pittsburgh credits. University of Pittsburgh honors are designated according to the following cumulative GPA criteria:
| Honor | Cum Laude | 3.25–3.49 |
| High Honor | Magna Cum Laude | 3.50–3.74 |
| Highest Honor | Summa Cum Laude | 3.75–4.00 |
PROCEDURE:
- Upon receipt of the final grade report and completion of degree requirements, the Center for Student Success calculates the final GPA and honors.
- Undergraduate nursing students with 60 or more Pitt credits are considered for university honors.
- Honors are indicated on the final transcript.
