  1. The School of Nursing awards credit for the following C.L.E.P. examinations.
    Credits are granted according to the scores listed below:

*RN-Options students may CLEP general chemistry for 4 credits but will be required to take an additional organic chemistry course

  1. Prelicensure students who have graduated from high school at least two years ago or who are at least 20 years of age may take CLEP examinations at any time before admission to the School of Nursing, however; official C.L.E.P. scores must be included at the time the application is submitted. Only examinations at the required level of achievement will be considered for review. A maximum of 21 credits, 12 of which must be in the liberal arts, can be obtained through the C.L.E.P. program by prelicensure students. RN-Options students may take CLEP exams during the course of their program as per University policy.
  2. C.L.E.P. credits granted by the University of Pittsburgh-School of Nursing are independent of awards granted at other schools, colleges, or universities. C.L.E.P. credits awarded at another institution or a School within the University of Pittsburgh do not automatically transfer to the University of Pittsburgh, School of Nursing. Rather, students must submit official C.L.E.P. scores for evaluation at the time of application to the School of Nursing.
