ADMISSION: NOTIFICATION OF APPLICANTS REGARDING STATE OF PA AND FACILITY REQUIREMENTS DURING NURSING SCHOOL AND AFTER GRADUATION

POLICY:

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid will admit, reject, or place on a waiting list applicants who meet criteria and guidelines set by the School of Nursing, according to a number established in accordance with admission guidelines and in consultation with enrollment management for the University.

PROCEDURE: 

Applicants are advised that once admitted, Act 33/34/73/168 (Criminal Record Check/Child Abuse History/FBI/ PA Sexual Misconduct) Clearances, a drug screen, and/or additional testing will be required.

Applicants who plan to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (as well as most other states) are advised that upon application for the Registered Nurse Licensure Examinations, the Board of Nursing will inquire as to whether the applicant has been convicted of a misdemeanor, felony, felonious act, an illegal act associated with alcohol, or an illegal act associated with substance abuse(s).
