Pitt Nursing increases in NIH funding

New rankings released by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR) put the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing as the No. 13 recipient of competitive federal research grants received in 2023.

Pitt Nursing secured over $6.3 million from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, up from $5.7 million in 2022.

“For decades, Pitt Nursing has provided faculty and students resources and support to spearhead groundbreaking research endeavors,” said Christine E. Kasper, PhD, RN, FAAN, FACSM, dean and professor. “This funding provides the vital resources necessary to drive innovation, advance scientific knowledge, and ultimately, improve health care outcomes for all.”

BRIMR has published these rankings since 2006.
