Pitt Nursing's Undergraduate Program Ties for No. 12 in Nation

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing’s undergraduate program continues to be considered one of the best in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s Best College rankings for 2027.

A report released today revealed that Pitt’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program tied for No. 12 nationwide. This follows earlier rankings, released by the same organization last April, that placed Pitt’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at No. 9 (tie) in the nation.

In addition to the overall DNP program rankings, Pitt Nursing’s Nurse Anesthesia concentration is tied for No. 5. In a separate report, Pitt Nursing claimed the No. 28 spot for top nursing institutions in the world, according to the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

“These rankings are highly competitive, and we are proud that Pitt Nursing continues to be recognized as a leader in nursing education, both on a national and global scale,” Pitt Nursing Dean Christine E. Kasper said. “Our mission has always been to provide a rigorous, well-rounded education that prepares future nurses for successful careers in clinical practice, research, leadership, higher education and any other pursuit they set their minds to.”
