Biography
Dr. Burkett is an assistant professor in the department of Heath Promotion & Development at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).
Teaching
Dr. Burkett teaches NUR 1052 Nursing Care of Children and Their Families didactic course, NUR 1042 Nursing Care of Children and Their Families clinical instructor, NUR 1132 and 1234 Transitions into Professional Nursing clinical instructor.
Clinical Emphasis
Marnie has over 30 years of nursing experience specializing in pediatric care, particularly in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Since 2010, she has been teaching pediatric clinicals in an acute care unit, focusing on trauma, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and neurology patients.
