Profile

Dr. Bobon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Acute and Tertiary Care and coordinator of the Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) program. She works clinically as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology with the Cardiovascular Group.

Dr. Bobon received a Diploma RN from St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh in 1989. She went on to obtain her BSN from Phoenix University in 2007.  She obtained her MSN and post-master’s degree in both Primary care (2013) and Acute Care of the Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (2018) and Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (2013) from Georgia State University.  Dr. Bobon went on to obtain her Doctor of Nursing Practice (2020) from Chatham University.  Additionally, she has been certificated in critical care nursing since 1991. 

She obtained her board certifications for Primary Care Adult/Gerontology from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2013 and board certification in 2018 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She was board certified as an Acute Care CNS in 2013 by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Clinical Emphasis

Dr. Bobon’s clinical emphasis is Cardiology, specifically Heart Failure.  She has over 24 years of critical care experience in the CVICU prior to transitioning to the nurse practitioner role. Her main concentration was left ventricular assist devices and cardiac transplantation.  She has been in practice within the field of Cardiology since 2013. She is a member of a large Cardiology group in the state of Georgia and cares for the acutely ill with a large hospital system.

Scholarly Emphasis

Dr. Bobon current research foci in the past is how nursing practice improves patient outcomes in Hear Failure. The concentration of her research was improving the percentage of patients going to their seven day follow up post discharge appointments. She is also interested in the roles for acute care nurse practitioners in tertiary care centers.
