Pitt Ranks Among World’s Top 30 Nursing Schools

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing ranks No. 28 in the world for nursing institutions, according to QS World University Rankings released March 25, 2026.

This year’s report from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a firm specializing in higher education data and insights, is the largest yet. It features over 1,500 universities that were assessed on their academic and employer reputations, research citations and other metrics.

For its nursing program rankings, QS assessed 850 institutions around the world, ultimately publishing data on the top 225. Pitt Nursing climbed seven spots from last year’s ranking and placed high in the research and discovery category, earning a 90.2 score for H-index citations, a scholarly metric that highlights the productivity and impact of faculty members’ published papers.
