Non-Tenure Stream Undergraduate Maternity Nursing Faculty

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is looking for qualified applicants for assistant or associate full-time non-tenure stream faculty in undergraduate maternity nursing.

Faculty members are employees of the University and receive dedicated time and resources to perform scholarly work, travel to present their work at professional conferences, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification and faculty practice. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for these tenure stream faculty positions include an earned doctorate (DNP or PhD) and RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field is required. B) Evidence of or potential for excellence in clinical and/or classroom teaching. C) Demonstrated expertise in area of nursing or expertise in a related substantive area. D) Evidence of potential to produce scholarly work.

Associate Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field. B) Evidence of excellence as a teacher. C) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material. D) Expertise recognized at the national/international level.
