Faculty Recognized by Oncology Nursing Society

Dr. Bender is the recipient of this year’s ONS Distinguished Researcher Award. She was recognized for her continued work to advance and enhance the science and practice of oncology nursing. Dr. Bender’s research contributions are innumerable, with a total of more than $15.5 million in funding, and significant peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Fennimore received the Excellence in Oncology Nursing Health Policy and Advocacy Award. She was the director of education for ONS for seven years, and currently serves as faculty on a National Cancer Institute-funded grant focused on “Integrating Palliative Oncology Care into Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Education and Clinical Practice.”


Director Named for BSN Program at Pitt–Greensburg

This new nursing program at Pitt Greensburg has been approved by the State Board of Nursing and CCNE as a satellite campus of the Oakland nursing program. Marie will have the exciting opportunity to build this program on the Greensburg campus. Recruitment of students is underway for enrollment in fall 2017!
