Application Deadlines
Masters
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. However the applications deadlines are 4/1 for summer, 8/1 for fall, and 12/1 for spring, except Nurse Anesthesia whose final deadline is January 5. (*if unsure consult with the concentration coordinator)
For Full Time Study:
- Nurse Anesthesia Major begins in the Fall & Spring Term(s). Suggested timeline for completed application is November 1 through January 1 for the following Fall & Spring Term(s). Final deadline is January 5.
- Nurse Practitioner: Acute Care, Adult, Family, Pediatric, Neonatal and Psychiatric Primary Care) begin generally in the Fall Term. Completed application must be received in Student Services Office by August 1 for Fall Term admission (earlier is preferable). It may be possible to start full time study in another term using elective credits.
- Clinical Nurse Specialist: (Psychiatric/Mental Health and Adult Medical/Surgical) begin in the Fall Term.
- Nurse Specialty Roles: (Administration, Clinical Nurse Leader, Education, Informatics, and Research) admit students to ANY term.
For Part Time Study:
- There are limited spaces available for part time study in the first year of the Anesthesia Program. Applicants must follow the timelines for full time study.
- Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Specialist, and Nurse Specialty Roles admit part time students to ANY term. Completed applications should be available in the Student Services Office ONE MONTH prior to the start of the term in which you would like to enroll.
The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing uses a rolling admissions policy. Applicants are reviewed as we receive a complete application, and qualified applicants are admitted as long as spaces are available in the concentration to which you have applied.
