Administrative
As Associate Dean for Student/Alumni Services and Development my administrative responsibilities include oversight of the academic and non-academic support provided to prospective and current undergraduate and graduate students. I also direct communications with graduates of the School of Nursing, other nursing schools and the media, as well as fundraising events, graduation and other activities. As Interim Director of Continuing Education I am responsible for overseeing both on-site and on-line continuing education programs.Research
My research interests focus on adolescent health, smoking cessation during pregnancy, relapse prevention and prevention of initiation of smoking in adolescents.Teaching
I teach master`s and doctoral students enrolled in the Nursing Education area of concentration. I also serve as a doctoral student advisor and as a dissertation chairperson. I have also taught master’s and doctoral independent study, research practicum and the doctoral research seminar.Service
Currently, I serve on the University’s Provost’s Calendar Committee and as the University’s NCAA Faculty Representative. I am a member of a host of national nursing organizations, including president-elect of the Association of Women’s Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) and as an elected member to the American Nurse Association’s Congress on Nursing Practice and Economics.Education
