Administrative
As Associate Dean for External Relations my administrative responsibilities include oversight of the academic and non-academic support provided to prospective and current undergraduate and graduate students. I also direct communications with graduates of the School of Nursing, other nursing schools and the media, as well as development efforts, graduation and other activities. I am additionally responsible for overseeing the continuing education programs at the school.Research
My research interests focus on women`s health, smoking cessation during pregnancy, relapse prevention and prevention of initiation of smoking in adolescents and women.Teaching
I teach master`s and doctoral students. I also serve as a doctoral student advisor and as a dissertation chairperson. I have also taught master’s and doctoral independent study courses, research practica and the doctoral research seminar.Service
Currently I am president of the Association of Women’s Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) and as an elected member to the American Nurse Association’s Congress on Nursing Practice and Economics. I also serve as the University’s NCAA faculty representative.Education
