Research

My current research focuses on evidence-based practice in non-traditional health promotion and fitness activities, such as Pilates and Yoga.

Teaching

I have been on faculty since 1996. I teach NUR-1281 Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice, NUR-1070 Introduction to Nursing Science, and NUR-1765, Risk Factors and Health. I am an academic advisor to undergraduate students. I serve as the Coordinator of the School Nurse Certification Program and the Fitness Minor.

Service

I serve on numerous School and University committees. As a faculty member on the clinical track, my faculty practice centers on community-based health promotion activities, such as flu vaccine administration, wellness fairs and the like. I am an ACSM certified Health Fitness Instructor and ACSM certified wellness coach. I also am a certified instructor through Stott-Pilates and a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.
