Research
My areas of research interest are technology applications to reduce barriers to adherence, mood disorders, and cognitive behavioral therapy homework. My doctoral dissertation research involved the development and testing of a questionnaire to measure barriers to the completion of cognitive behavioral therapy homework in depressed outpatients. I then went on to do a T32 Postoctoral Fellowship focusing on technology interventions. I am currently an NIH K12 Clinical Research Scholar through the Clinical Translational Science Institute. I am working on developing a SmartPhone Application to improve adherence to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Homework.Teaching
I have taught NNUR 1800/2800 Coordinating Clinical Trials and NURNP 2400 Neurobiology of Psychiatric Disorders in the past.Service
I am an active member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.Clinical
I have been a psychiatric nurse since 1980 and a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist since 1984. My clinical expertise is in Mood Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Cocaine Addiction. I have been trained as a Cognitive Therapist and Pharmacotherapist .Education
