Join the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and Pitt's Health Sciences Library System for a reception featuring, "Pictures of Nursing: The Zwerdling Postcard Collection". This unique exhibit consists of postcards with images of nurses and the nursing profession from around the world, produced between 1893 and 2011.
Nurses and nursing have been frequent subjects in popular media for centuries. The Zwerdling Collection comprises 2,500 postcards of nurses from around the world. Partnering with Pitt’s Health Sciences Library System, Pitt Nursing is pleased to host this private showing of selected images from the collection and a presentation by Brigid Lusk, PhD, nurse historian and Director of UIC's Midwest Nursing History Research Center. A clinical faculty member at the University of Illinois Chicago, Dr. Lusk will discuss “Nursing: Beyond the 4x6 Image.” Alumni and friends are invited to join us for the presentation and a reception which will be held at Victoria Building – we’re going to offer tours of the School as well. Please RSVP to Jennifer Fellows by April 11, 2016.
