The Department of Health & Community Systems (HCS) is one of three academic departments in the School of Nursing. The department is comprised of faculty in the specialties:

• Community Health Nursing
• Gerontological Nursing
• Nursing Informatics
• Nursing Education
• Nursing Research
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
• Psychiatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
• Clinical Nurse Specialist Psychiatric Mental Health

The Department has responsibility for the RN Options program and the Accelerated 2^nd Degree BSN program, as well as for the research doctoral emphasis in chronic disorders courses across the curricula.
