Distance Education
The school’s distance education program has continued to grow, both in the number of courses offered, and the number of courses transmitted. We continued transmitting course information and individual student/teacher conferences to the Miami area, Bradford and Johnstown, while assuming support for the anesthesia distance education program, which transmits to many different states as clinical experiences are available for the students. This summer, the School of Nursing transmitted a course to a student living in Oregon.
Additionally, research presentations from the Center for Research and Evaluation (CRE) and Center for Research in Chronic Disorders (CRCD) were transmitted to West Virginia and faculty have begun to utilize distance education technology to serve on doctoral dissertation committees around the country. Monthly consultation meetings with faculty from the University of Central England via video conferencing have begun and will continue throughout the year.
