  • Post-Baccalaureate: Genetics
    This certificate is designed for Bachelor's Degree prepared individuals who are seeking focused, graduate-level education in the specialty of genetics.
  • Post-MSN: Health Care Genetics
    This certificate is designed for the health care worker with a Master's Degree who is seeking a focus in Genetics.
  • Post-MSN: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
    This non-degree certificate is designed for nurses with a previous Master of Nursing who are seeking to expand their roles via nurse practitioner certification in Adult Acute Care. The total credits required are 27-31.
  • Post-MSN: Certificate: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
    This certificate provides the theory content and skill development for a Nurse Practitioner role with a focus on adult psychiatric illnesses and their management.
  • Post-MSN: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
    This non-degree certificate is designed for nurses with a previous Masters in Nursing who are seeking to expand their role to practice as neonatal nurse practitioners.
  • Post-MSN: Nursing Education
    This certificate is a combination of didactic, preceptorship, and web-supported learning. Offers flexibility for individualized learning. Part-time study (1-2 courses per term over four or five terms) is possible.
  • Post-MSN: Nursing Informatics
    This certificate offers flexibility to individualized learning. Offers web-supported learning environment and can be completed in four academic terms
  • Certificate in Nursing Research
    This certificate is intended for nurses with a Bachelor's degree who are seeking a focus on research as well as current graduate students and nurses who have completed a graduate degree.
  • School Nurse Certificate
    The purpose of the School Nurse Certification Program is to prepare RNs to meet the health needs of children of all ages in diverse school settings. Health promotion and teaching are emphasized.
  • Graduate Certificate in Gerontology, Nursing Track
    The University of Pittsburgh Council on Aging has collaborated to create a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Offered through the University Center for Social and Urban Research, the track is designed for nurses who are interested in acquiring basic knowledge about gerontology and geriatrics, and specialized knowledge of aging and aging processes in their particular disciplines.
