The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is located in the Victoria Building, which is one block north of Fifth Avenue between Lothrop and Darragh streets. It is in the midst of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. The blue and white awnings above both Victoria Building entrances clearly identify the School of Nursing. Directions to Oakland from North
Take Interstate 79 South to Pittsburgh. Take the Interstate 279 EXIT toward Pittsburgh, and then take EXIT 8A to Interstate 579/ Veterans Bridge. Follow Interstate 579 to the OAKLAND/MONROEVILLE EXIT. Once off the ramp, follow the Forbes Avenue/Oakland signs for approximately one mile. Take the FORBES AVE. EXIT 2A toward OAKLAND. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto FORBES AVE; turn LEFT onto McKee Place; stay on the right line; cross Fifth Avenue and continue straight up the hill to Darragh Street. Turn first RIGHT onto Victoria Street. The School of Nursing entrance is on the RIGHT.
Directions to Oakland from East
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76), take EXIT 57, Pittsburgh/Monroeville, to Interstate 376 West. Follow 376 to OAKLAND EXIT 3B onto Bates Street. Follow Bates to light at Atwood Street, turn LEFT and follow Atwood Street to Fifth Avenue; turn LEFT. Get in the right lane. Follow Fifth to Lothrop Street; turn RIGHT. Turn LEFT onto Victoria Street. The School of Nursing entrance is on the LEFT.
Directions to Oakland from South
Take Interstate 79 North to Interstate 279 North/US-22E/US-30 toward Pittsburgh. Once on the Fort Pitt Bridge follow signs to Interstate 376 East/US-22E/US-30 via EXIT 6A toward Monroeville. Take the FORBES AVE. EXIT 2A toward OAKLAND. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto FORBES AVE; turn LEFT onto McKee Place; stay on the right line; cross Fifth Avenue and continue straight up the hill to Darragh Street. Turn first RIGHT onto Victoria Street. The School of Nursing entrance is on the RIGHT.
Directions to Oakland from West
Follow Interstate 76, take EXIT 57 to Interstate 376 West, then take OAKLAND EXIT 3B onto Bates Street. Bus Service to Oakland from Downtown
Local buses numbered 71 (A, C, or D) and 61 (A, B, or C) travel into Oakland and may be boarded along Fifth Avenue downtown. The buses then travel along Forbes Avenue in Oakland. For information, contact the Port Authority Transit at (412) 442-2000.
