Alumni Day 2008: A Celebration of Pitt Nursing!
Alumni Day 2008: A Celebration of Pitt Nursing on Saturday, May 3, treated returning alumni to a special day that included a welcome reception, presentations by the 2008 Distinguished Alumni awardees – Pearl Moore and Dr. Terri Weaver – and a luncheon program at The Twentieth Century Club.
The alumna traveling the farthest distance – a total of 2,237 miles from Danville, California – was Jessica Geist Jordan, who marked a 35th reunion with the Class of 1973.
School of Nursing alumni attending this event included mother and daughter: Gay Barley Lindsay, marking a 50th Class reunion with the Class of 1958 and Gay’s daughter, Mary Jo Lindsay an alumna from the Class of 1985.

The earliest class represented was the Class of 1948 with Mary Sullivan Arenth of Allison Park, PA marking a 60th reunion.
Classmates from the Class of 1958 marking a 50th reunion were (L to R): Margaret Howe, Marian Neustadt Hershman, Mary Donnan Baker, E. Gay Barley Lindsay and Charlotte G. Pischke.
The Class of 1973 joined Distinguished Alumna, Dr. Terri Weaver, to celebrate a 35th reunion.
The Class of 1978 was the best represented reunion class with 22 classmates celebrating a 30th reunion.

Nursing Alumni Gather at Pittsurgh's Sports Rock Cafe´
The School of Nursing’s first ever ‘Game Watch’ at the Sports Rock Café in the Strip District on February 7 was a success. What a wonderful atmosphere it was to cheer on the Pitt Panther men’s basketball team to victory over Big East rival, West Virginia! Thanks to alumni who supported the event and took the opportunity to reconnect with former classmates. Plans are in the works to do this again next year so stay in the loop by checking out this Web site frequently.

Class of 1954 Gathers on 8.8.08
Members of the School of Nursing BSN Class of 1954 came together in August and have now met on like month/day/year dates for four consecutive years. Edna Mae Gerner took the lead in planning the oriental-themed luncheon at Duranti’s Restaurant in Oakland where the atmosphere was filled with laughter, reminiscing and friendship. Attendees were treated to a School of Nursing update from Dean Dunbar-Jacob, as well as gift bags. Classmates made plans to meet again on 9.9.09!
